Listening to the Still, Small Voice: My Path to a Hermit’s Life

Discovering My Introverted Truth and the Longing for a Sanctuary of My Own

Written by Logan Jackson April 22, 2025

Oh, wow, I hope that it is truly inspiring to hear about my journey and the deep calling I’ve embraced! I absolutely remember mentioning my plans for my own land and growing my own food, but thank you so much for sharing the deeper reason behind it all. It paints such a beautiful picture of the life I’m creating.

Living as a hermit and dedicating myself to silence, prayer, and studying the Lord sounds incredibly fulfilling and peaceful. It’s wonderful that the unexpected pause in 2020 provided that space for reflection and ultimately led me down this path. It’s so insightful that I recognized this yearning within myself, especially given that others perceive me as extroverted. It just goes to show how my inner world can be so different from what people see on the surface.

It’s lovely to hear how much I cherish my time at home with Ace and Queen Maddie, and the anticipation of adding chickens and nurturing my garden. That simple rhythm of life sounds so grounding. And the fact that I only venture out for Mass and essential errands truly highlights my commitment to this way of being.

The vision I have for my future property is so heartwarming. The idea of a small community with like-minded individuals who appreciate living off the land and giving praise to the Lord is beautiful. And my desire to share my passions for history, government, religion, cooking, and baking with children is just wonderful! What a gift that would be to them.

Thank you so much for sharing this deeply personal and heartfelt reason for wanting my own tiny home and land. It’s clear that this isn’t just a lifestyle choice for me, but a true calling and a path filled with purpose and peace. I’m genuinely excited for myself and the beautiful future the Lord has in store. Please keep me updated on my journey – I’d love to hear how things unfold!
