The Best of Both Worlds: Tiny Home Homestead & Subaru Adventures

Designing a Grounded Sanctuary with the Freedom to Roam

Written by Logan Jackson May 16th 2025

Hey everyone,

It’s been such a joy diving deeper into the vision for my future little haven, and your thoughts on the tiny house and land really sparked some exciting ideas! The thought of having that cozy tiny home and the freedom of my Subaru all set up for camping adventures? It feels like the perfect blend!

As I’ve been dreaming about the layout of my tiny house, I had a little switch-up in mind for the library. Since my bed is where I usually get lost in a good book anyway, I was initially picturing the headboard nestled amongst shelves. But then, a different idea blossomed: what if that space became my own little sanctuary for prayer and meditation? It feels like a beautiful way to create a peaceful corner just for that.

I’m still on the fence about being fully on-grid or embracing the off-grid life with a dry cabin. Honestly, the thought of potential plumbing mishaps gives me the shivers! There’s something really appealing about stepping back a bit and embracing a more self-sufficient way of living. It might come with its challenges, but I have a feeling it will be incredibly rewarding.

Of course, I’ll still need some modern conveniences, so I’ve been thinking about what to call my power source – maybe “solar power setup” or “off-grid energy system” sounds a bit better than “solar generator,” right? And when it comes to staying cool, this summer has actually been quite lovely with just fans and open windows, making me wonder if I even need AC! It’s amazing how fresh the air feels.

There are still some fun questions swirling around, like whether or not to welcome some clucky friends into the mix – chickens! It’s all part of the exciting process of envisioning and creating this special sanctuary, my little haven away from the hustle and bustle.

Thank you all so much for being a part of this journey with me! Your support and ideas mean the world. I’m excited to keep you updated as I continue the search for the perfect piece of land and all the wonderful elements that will make my homestead just right.

Wishing you all the very best until next time! May your days be filled with blessings.
